When
it comes to identifying an artist's specific style,
their vocal and instrument is tied to them, branding
them for recognition throughout their career. In the case
of Ernie Evans, that's not so easy to do. Evans can
play many instruments and sing lead and harmony vocals at
a high level giving his music what ever it needs when
ever it needs it. Although he was raised on bluegrass
music, Evans has the ability to play many styles of
music from Jazz, Pop, Country and more. This skill
level is applied and is a major contributor to
the sound you hear listening to the
"Florida State Bluegrass Band" that Evans leads
and tours nationally with.
His
lengthy resume includes playing most recently as a member
of Grammy Nominee Valerie Smith & Liberty Pike, 5 Time
Grammy Nominee Vassar Clements Band, Southern Lite and
even Motown legends "The Platters". His music
has taken him all over the world throughout his career and
when off stage, he can be found broadcasting in St.
Augustine, FL at WFCF 88.5FM and also on World Wide
Bluegrass with his co host, wife and band mate
Debi Evans on their own shows airing weekly.
Other
member are Lamont Goff on mandolin/vocals and Isaac
Taylor on banjo/vocals. They are great musicians in their
own right and round out the sound of the Florida State
Bluegrass Band. Expect to be entertained with originals
and nicely arranged renditions of bluegrass music of the
past.
