Mama Corn
is a five piece bluegrass band out of the mountains of West
Central Pennsylvania. Packing audiences where ever they
play, Mama Corn is known for their comedic onstage demeanor,
fiery picking, and crisp vocal harmony. They have captured
the interest of a new generation of listeners by adhering to
a no rules attitude.
Blending
their talents, culled from such backgrounds as rock, blues,
jazz, and country, they connect to audiences through their
ability to push the parameters of the genre, while adhering
to the traditions of the music.
Formed
in late 2006-early 2007 at acoustic jam sessions, Mama Corn
quickly hit the nightclub scene and began playing bluegrass
festivals in the “westsylvania” region. A studio EP was
recorded in late 2007, which has been widely distributed by
fans, and is played on radio and podcast shows all over the
US and the world.
Mama
Corn has appeared alongside such bluegrass luminaries as
Rhonda Vincent & The Rage, James King, Larry Keel &
Natural Bridge, The Gibson Brothers, Kenny & Amanda
Smith Band, and others too numerous to list.
In
addition to a busy upcoming festival and concert season,
Mama Corn is currently enjoying the initial success of their
first studio album, which has been met with great success.
